Solo trip into the city

Geoff is still sick and needed to stay home again. Seeing we had an appointment with Apple in Covent Garden this afternoon it was up to me to go into the city. I must admit I felt a bit nervous as Geoff always worked out the Tube journeys and I just follow along. Would I find my way in and back again?

Well I ended up having a lovely time. It was simple to work out the tube changes and the system is so efficient and frequent it is a breeze. I found the map shop Geoff is interested in and had a look around to report back to him and then wandered around the area and the Covent Garden markets until the appointment. It was packed and so loud and full of buskers and performers.

Tucked away at the end of one street was this small pub called the Lamb and Flag. It was built in 1623. In the early 19th century, the Lamb & Flag acquired something of a reputation for bare-knuckle fighting, earning it the nickname 'The Bucket of Blood'. Charles Dickens used to drink at this pub.

The appointment at the Apple shop was quite stressful. It is a huge place and was full of people with Apple device problems and staff. The noise was quite unbelievable the staff must go home with a headache every night. Anyway I was able to get Geoff's Iphone re set.

Afterwards I had more of a wander around before coming back to a still sick poor boy.
