Lancashire

Off to Europcar in Morecombe as required. As always a stressful event as they wanted to suddenly double the hire rate for the last 2 weeks. Finally sorted out.

Went for a walk along the seaside at Morecombe. Not a terribly attractive seaside resort with its grey water and pebbles and nuclear power stations!

Stumbled upon an old village called Heysham.

This sandstone headland rises majestically above the sea and on it perches the remains of St Patrick's Chapel, built in the early Medieval period and now a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The eight body-shaped, rock-cut graves here are believed to be unique.

After Heysham it was onto cousin Mike and Dotts place at Balckburn.
